Venture Capital is an asset class focused on investing in high-growth, early-stage companies that exhibit potential for significant technological disruption and rapid scale. While VC offers high potential for alpha generation, it carries an inherently high risk profile characterized by significant dispersion between top and bottom-quartile managers. For this reason, VC represents a targeted allocation within our strategic asset allocation. Success in this area relies on access to top-tier managers who have historically delivered strong results.

Due to the specialized nature of early-stage investing and the high degree of risk concentration, we believe a disciplined fund-of-funds approach is essential for the portfolio. This diversified structure allows us to mitigate idiosyncratic risk and access capacity-constrained managers while smoothing volatility across different vintage years and sub-sectors. Additionally, the firm participates in co-investments selectively alongside trusted fund managers to increase exposure to high-conviction assets and enhance internal cost-efficiency.
